Tonight in the car Collin asked " Mom, why is the moon following us?" I tried to explain that the moon is so big that we can see it wherever we go and it just looks like it is following us... Collin to Gavin " Maybe there is someone hiding behind the moon, moving it" Gavin to Collin " No, I think that that a star is pushing it" I guess you never know....love the imagination of a child!
Our sweet Carson is turning ONE a week from today! There is a fine line between bragging and updating...with Carson's birthday coming up I wanted to list just a few of the things he has been doing...I'll call it updating as we are soo proud of our son! He has been taking steps for a few weeks but I think now we can say he is officially "walking"...he prefers to walk over crawling. Now that he can walk he wants to be practicing his new skill in the backyard where Gavin and Collin play, he always wants to be in the backyard..crying at the door to go out! He is getting so verbal and understanding so much. Each day I am suprised at something that he does or says and I realize how much he picks up from us all. Some of his favorite words right now are...Mama, Dada, Papa, Ball and The Ball, Shhh, Mimi, Hooray, Whats That??, duck, eyes, woof, nanas, num num, drink and making car noises while he pushes a car around...vrrmm. He is in love with dogs and woof's at everything that he thinks could possibly be a dog. Today at Target he was woofing persistently, after looking all around I finally noticed he was looking up at a target sign with their dog logo on it....I never doubt him. Whenever there is music on he is the first to make sure we all notice, he says "Dance, Dance, Dance" as he flales his arms around and tries to snap his fingers. He loves to play peek a boo and is obsessed with BALLS or anything in a circular shape that resembles a ball. He loves the produce section because everything looks like a ball and he loves Bananas. If the bananas go in the cart and he doesn't get one...he makes sure I am aware that he wants one...right that minute! He is so much fun and every day learning something new. He loves his 2 older brothers and wants to do everything that they do. We can't believe he is going to be One, but we really do feel that we have enjoyed every moment this year and taken time to savor the small things that are important in life.
Saturday we went to Carlsbad with some of friends..The Stengals, Hirschs, Telfords, Krauses and Jacksons. Yes..My boys are wearing life vests at the beach...you can never be too cautious right? Carson loves the sand and was covered from head to toe..he was rolling around in it and I am still finding sand in places that I never knew exhisted! The boys all had a great time and the weather was beautiful. After almost 6 hours...Gavin and Collin still did not want to leave!
Apparently Carson can fill his own bath? I had just gotten Gavin and Collin out of THEIR bathtub and was taking a out a load of laundry when Gavin came in saying " Mommy, your bath tub is really, really very full!" I knew that I had not started the tub and hadn't been in my room for a while. I walked in to find the bath water running and filled to the brim! By the time I took this picture it had already gone down some. When I asked who turned it on...of course they said Carson...I guess we will never know, but all I can say is thank goodness I walked in before we had a flood!!
Yesterday we took the boys to Legoland to check out the new Pirate Shores water park! Aside from it being insanely crowded...we had a great time! Gavin and Collin's favorite thing is the Big Test firefighter show..of course we saw it twice while we were there and had to meet all of the firefighters after each show. We love Legoland because it is rarely crowded but I guess with the recent heat the waterpark was a popular place! After riding the roller coaster a few times, we headed out...what a fun day!
Going along with my recent string of home projects, here is my dining room chandelier that I re-vamped and a bookshelf that I painted for Gavin and Collin's room. My neighbor made this and didn't end up using it and was so sweet to give it to us, it happened to fit perfectly between Gavin and Collin's Beds and I had been looking for a bookshelf for there anyway. What will it be next??
Well this is my first attempt at posting a blog entry since Jan started this. I must say that it is really a great thing for our family and also such a quick and easy way to keep up with all of you. Well as you can see I am standing here with Ted Allen from the Queer Eye for the Straight guy show. No I am not the newest contestent on the show. Actually as many of you know I do marketing and advertising for a wine company and just hired Ted as our new wine and food expert for one of my brands. We did a big marketing event this past weekend at the Queen Mary in long beach and this is Ted and I right after the first wine and food demo for the public. He was really funny and is a really great cook. It was the first time I have ever eaten a Lamb Burger....Yum
