La Costa

When plans for Kris and I to go away fell through, we packed up the kids and headed to La Costa Resort and Spa, the kids' favorite resort! The front desk gives a cute gift bag full of fun things for each of the kids.... they know the routine and look forward to it every time.
Gavin Checking the place out
Guess he liked what he saw!

Collin just lounging... thinking about going on the water slide
.. with a bucket on his head

Here comes Gavin
"Woah Mom, did you see that?"
That was fun!
Now Carson's turn. After going down a few times on Kris's lap, he was ready to go alone
Yay!!
And of course, Hendrix needed a turn, although his stunned look lead us to believe, he was terrified.

I was trying to take his picture and he was eating my camera strap.. Love those baby blue's ~
We had dinner at Bucca di Beppo, another of the boys favorite while we are in Carlsbad. Although, Gavin said his meatball tasted like dog food soooo, I don't think we will be back.

Time for a Bubble Bath!
Ho.. Ho..Ho
After we were in PJ's I took the older 3 boys to roast smores by the pool and they also had a movie in the moonlight... Star Wars! They were ABSOLUTELY thrilled!! Couldn't have been more perfect.

4 Beautiful Boys! How did we get so lucky?
Lots of fun in the sand!

and in the water!
What should we order for lunch?
We love to eat lunch poolside!
Hendrix was so tired and didn't nap all day!

They have a fun game room filled with video games, ping pong, air hockey and tons more!

We had a great trip!
My Cute Collin
That night, Kris and I had tickets to the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach. We ate dinner at the Salt Creek Grill which we hadn't been to in years. The OC Jimmy Buffet fan club was having an event on the patio so there was great music and also entertainment.. we had some good laughs. The Pageant was amazing as usual.. we forgot the camera and my phone.. so there are no pics but thanks to my sweet sis Ashley for taking good care of the boys! And for figuring out that I forgot to feed them dinner... oops!
Fun Fun Night!

Summer Camp

All THREE of the boys got to attend Ms. Diannes Summer Camp! There was a Patriotic theme and Carson was thrilled to be able to attend too... he had to be fully potty trained, so this was a great incentive for him. On the last day there was a cute performance and awards!

Back at the Lake

We were all so glad to be able to go to the Lake again and be around water.
"Ahhh... this is the life"
Look, I got a third tooth on the top!
Collin being silly
Brothers having fun!
Hendrix thinks he can swim...
So Cute!
All wet and sandy... one of the ways boys are happiest!

Brothers building a sand castle!

I came home, made dinner for my hungry boys and told Kris that I had forgotten how good it feels to be able to get out and do things with the kids again! Such a nice and fun day! We absolutely love the lake!

We made it!

After 2 1/2 weeks we headed to the orthopedic Dr. to have some x-rays of Hendrix's wrist and see if he could go home without a cast.
Poor Baby was scared of the loud saw used to remove the cast.
Carson, Collin and Gavin waited very patiently and thought the saw was really loud too!
"Oh, it feels so good to bend my wrist!"
A kiss from Carson
Checking out his arm... making sure it still works
"Hey, this feels great!"
Dr. Gavin waiting for the Ortho to come in and give us the x-ray results
Free!! yay! The cast is off and we are headed home!
Papa came by for a quick visit
and a little football
the tackle by Collin
Go Long!
Now, we have a few more weeks of summer left to enjoy the Beach, Lake and Pool ~ Let the fun begin!

Tender Mercies

This Past week at our house has been nothing short of chaotic. This afternoon just as I was about to have a nervous break down, I walked by my back door and felt the most calming cool ocean breeze. I stopped, stood and took a few deep breaths. Had it been there all day? How had I not noticed it earlier? A true tender mercy from the Lord at a time when I needed it most. A moment to pause and regain a little sanity. Just what I needed to continue on with my afternoon.
The Root of the chaos had been Hendrix's broken wrist. Not that HE is the root of my chaos... just his situation. We are not sure exactly when this happened. We were packing up to leave Bass Lake and he tumbled down the stairs. I caught him about half way down, he was fussy but was fine once he napped. That night after we got home we were unpacking and he fell in the garage and was hysterical from that point on. He is a new walker so he is a little wobbly still and trips and catches himself a lot. Kris said he fell to one side and pretty hard so we don't know if he did it then on earlier that day on the stairs. Poor Guy. I feel terrible for him. They had to put a full arm cast on him so he can't pull it off. Now his balance is off more than before and he falls all the time, requiring constant one on one supervision while he is awake to make sure he doesn't get hurt even more or get it wet or dirty. I have sooo many things in my daily routine that I need to do and cant until he is asleep. No beach, pool , lake, dirty park's, bath's or messy foods for 2 1/2 weeks.
When he does sleep, he seems to be comfortable like this. I covered his cast with a sock to keep it dry and clean. Not the cutest look, but practical... and thats what it's all about these days.
On a brighter note, I am amazed at how well he plays and gets along with his cast. He is still so happy (for the most part) and seems to be adjusting better and better every day. He should only have to wear it of 2 weeks... Yay!
